Cross Country Ski Headquarters Ski Report – Friday, April 4, 2014

Looks like wet day today but Saturday could be a great spring X-C skiing day! The snow pack never warmed up very much yesterday so there is still a lot of snow on the trails and in the woods. There are still tracks too.

There are a few bare spots on the Manitou, Wild Turkey and Adventure trails. The extension on the Rolling Hills trail also has ice under the big pines. The Tall Pines trail has been devoured by snow fleas.

Depth of packed snow ranges from 5  to 12 inches (26 inches in the Blizzard X-C Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 3 to 18 inches. Spring conditions for classic and skate skiing prevail on 7  trails that total 10.6 miles.

Today: Light wintry mix. High 39F. Winds SE 10 to 15 mph. Snow and ice accumulation less than 1 inch.

Tonight: Periods of light snow. Low 22F. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulations less than one inch

Saturday: Cloudy early, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. High 39F. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 mph
Saturday Night: Clear. Low near 25F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 52F. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph

Today’s lunch special is a fire grilled Black Bean burger or a fire grilled Salmon burger. Both cooked outside and served up with a very special sauce.

The End of Season Sale is in full swing including a lot of X-C Skis and boots at very special prices!
