Cross Country Ski Headquarters Ski Report – Saturday, April 5, 2014

We received some rain yesterday afternoon but then it snowed between 1/2 inch to an inch after the rain. As of 7:30 am the temperature was 22F and at 1 pm it is forecast to get to 32F. The trails are skiable and the fresh snow on the hard pack will be a big help.

There are a few very thin spots on the Manitou, Wild Turkey and Adventure trails. The extension on the Rolling Hills trail also has ice under the big pines. The Tall Pines trail has been devoured by snow fleas.

Depth of packed snow ranges from 2 to 12 inches (26 inches in the Blizzard X-C Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 1 to 18 inches. Un- groomed spring conditions for classic and skate skiing prevail on 7  trails that total 10.6 miles.

Today: Cloudy early, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. High 39F. Winds WNW at 15 to 25 mph

Tonight: Clear. Low near 25F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 5F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph

Today’s lunch special is a fire grilled Black Bean burger or a fire grilled Salmon burger. Both cooked outside and served up with a very special sauce.

There may not be too many more days of X-C Skiing left! The End of Season Sale is going strong!
