Cross Country Ski Headquarters Ski Report – Saturday Jan. 3, 2015

It was a beautiful sunny day to ski in the Blizzard X-C ski park yesterday. Hopefully by the end of today we will be able to ski on many additional trails too!

As of 7am this morning the snow was coming down.

Here is our forecast.

Today: Cloudy with snow. High 29F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 90%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

Tonight: Periods of snow. Low 28F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

Sunday: Snow during the morning will taper off during the afternoon, but it will remain cloudy with increasing winds. High 29F. Winds NW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 90%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

The Vasa trails in Traverse City have been rolled and with more snow their conditions will only get better.

Today’s special in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge is a Tuna  panini with black olives and jalapenos and provolone. Great coffee, fresh muffins, and chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies are also being served along with a variety of paninis made with Stone House bread.

The Let it Snow Sale continues. Our inventory is still very strong, so come demo some skis for free or shop the great clothing specials.
Don’t forget to join us for Full Moon Night Skiing tonight night from 6 to 8!
The torches will be lit out to the Trapper’s cabin where you will find a bonfire and Trapper Stu serving hot cocoa and telling adventure stories.

It is going to be a snowy day to ski today!
