Cross Country Ski Headquarters Ski Report – Sunday, April 6, 2014

We had a fine day of spring skiing yesterday. Groomer Stu made great progress grooming up the Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, Trapper’s Cabin, Adventure and Rolling Hills trails. The temperature was well below freezing last night and by 10 am is forecast to be up to 35 F. This will be when Groomer Stu will re-groom the trails that he groomed yesterday.

There are a few bare spots on the Manitou, Wild Turkey and Adventure trails. The extension on the Rolling Hills trail also has a bare spot under the big pines, but if you do not take the extension it is completely covered. The Tall Pines trail has quite a few bars spots.

Depth of packed snow ranges from 2 to 12 inches (26 inches in the Blizzard X-C Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 1 to 18 inches. Groomed spring conditions for classic and skate skiing prevail on 5  trails that total 6 miles.

Today:  Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 51F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph

Monday: Partly sunny early then possible showers later in the day. High 51F. Winds ESE 5 to 10 mph.

Today’s lunch special is a fire grilled Black Bean burger or a fire grilled Salmon burger. Both cooked outside and served up with a very special sauce.

After today we will not be keeping regular hours on week days, please call ahead  (800 832 2663) if you would like to stop in and we will be sure to be there. We will be open next next weekend snow permitting. The End of Season Sale is still going strong!
