Cross Country Ski Report – Friday, February 1st, 2013

As of 7 AM we have received about 2 inches of snow since yesterday morning and the temperature is 12F.

Groomers Stu and Bob will be Ginzu packing and snowcombing all the trails this morning. The tracks are molded and have fresh snow in them. The groomers will do one trail at a time starting with the Mackinac Cut and Wild Turkey trails. Conditions are very good.

Today: Snow showers will become more widely scattered for the afternoon. High 14F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 60%. About one inch of snow expected

Tonight: Cloudy skies with a few snow showers after midnight. Low 4F. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 30%.

Saturday: Snow showers tapering to some flurries after noon. High 16F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 30%.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy skies early, then some snow showers later at night. Low 7F. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 60%.

Sunday: Snow showers. Highs in the upper teens and lows in the mid single digits. Wind West 14mph

New Snow: 2 inches

Snow Depth in Woods: 5 to 9 inches

Packed Snow Depth on Trails: 4 – 5 inches

Ice, Glaze, Barespots: All trails are snow covered. There are wind blown icy spots on the Blizzard Ski Park.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge will have a fine fire in the fireplace and the lunch specials include a Hot Italian Turkey Sub, Veggie Pesto Melt, and Famous Chili.
