Cross Country Ski Report – Friday, March 1st, 2013

Groomers Stu and young Bob were very successful in packing, Ginzu snowcombing and setting fresh tracks on all the trails yesterday.

The Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, Rolling Hills, Tall Pines, Trapper’s Cabin, Manitou, Adventure and Blizzard trails all have excellent conditions for skate and classic skiing.

Groomer Stu will be Ginzu snowcombing all the skating lanes this morning. The tracks are in excellent condition.

Today: Scattered flurries in the morning then partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 20’s. Wind N 10 to 15.

Tonight: Variable clouds. Low 9. Wind N 5 to 10.

Saturday: Partly sunny. High in the mid 20’s. Wind N 10 to 15.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. High in the upper 20’s. Wind NW 5 to 10.

New Snow: 0 inches

Snow Depth in Woods: 12 to 15 inches

Packed Snow Depth on Trails: 6 – 12 inches

Ice, Glaze, Barespots: No Barespots, Fresh groomed snow with deep base

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge Special is a Tuna Panini with black olives, jalapenos and provolone served on Stone House bread. Turkey and Rocky Mountain Chipotle Veggie Paninis are also on the menu as is the Famous Spicy Chili and Veggie Chili both served with a warm sourdough roll.

Today will be a great day to try out some new skis or boots at no charge. We are a Demo and Race Center for Fischer, Salomon,and Atomic skis and boots. We are also a Rossignol and Alpina Demo/Touring center. The Atomic Team Posi Classic ski with the Rossignol X6 Combi boot would be a lot of fun to demo today.
