Cross Country Ski Report – Friday, March 22nd, 2013

Friday March 22, 2013
Groomer Stu Ginzu groomed and reset tracks on all the trails yesterday with great results.
Groomer young Bob will reset all the tracks again this morning and Ginzu snowcomb all the trails too. We have to reset the tracks often because the oak leaves are finally leaving their trees and getting into the tracks.
The Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, Rolling Hills, Trapper’s Cabin, Manitou, Adventure and Blizzard trails all have fresh groomed snow on a solid base. The tracks are freshly set. The skating lanes are in excellent condition. The Tall Pines trail has Ginzu snowcombed skating lanes and fresh shallow tracks set.
Today: Snow flurries around this morning. High 33F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight:  Partly to mostly cloudy. Low 18F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday: Partly cloudy skies. High 36F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday night: A few clouds. Low 19F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph
Sunday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid 30s and lows in the mid 20s.
All trails are covered with a fresh blanket of snow. Midwinter conditions prevail.
Today’s special in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge is a Tuna Panini made with freshly baked Stone House bread.  The menu will also include various Panini or un-grilled sandwiches and Famous Spicy Chili and Veggie Chili.
We are a Fischer Race and Demo Center, an Atomic and Salomon Race and Demo Center and a Rossignol Touring and Demo center. A great ski to try today would be the Fischer Carbonlite Hole ski. These skating skis are World Cup winners and once you try them you will know why. The “March Madness, aka Labor Day Sale” is in full swing.
Looks like a Pure Michigan X-C weekend on the way!
