Cross Country Ski Report – Monday, December 23rd, 2013

Total snowfall from Saturday and Sunday ended up to be about 6 inches. As of 6:15 am we have received about 1 additional inch of fresh light snow. Groomer Dana will be Ginzu snowcombing at dawn. The Ginzu set tracks he cut yesterday are deep and have set up nicely. All the trails will be ready to ski on by 10 am.

We have 8 trails open for a total of 17 kilometers (10.7 miles)

Depth of packed snow ranges from 8 to 17 inches (17 inches in the Blizzard XC Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 10 to 18 inches

Today, Dec 23:  Snow showers. High around 15. Winds light and variable. Chance of snow 30%

Tuesday, Dec 24: Partly sunny. High 14F. Winds light and variable.

Wednesday, Dec 25: Snow likely. High 21F.  Winds S @ 17 mph. Chance of snow 70%

The lunch special in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge today is Bob’s Favorite Tuna Panini on 7 grain Stone House bread grilled to perfection by chef Janelle. Of course spicy chili and spicy veggie chili with a 7 grain roll are also on the menu along with a whole host of other paninis and sandwiches.

This is a Pure Michigan day to X-C ski!
