Cross Country Ski Report – Monday, December 30th

The snow pack warmed up Saturday night, so when the cold temps came in yesterday afternoon the softer snow turned hard. Groomer Dana will start Ginzu grooming all the trails early this morning to soften them up. We received a trace amount of fresh snow.

We have 8 trails open for a total of 18 kilometers (11.2 miles) and all are in very good condition.

Depth of packed snow ranges from 6 to 8 inches (17 inches in the Blizzard XC Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 9 to 16 inches.

Today, Scattered snow showers this morning. High 14. Winds WSW 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 30%.

Tonight, Steady snow after midnight. Low 6F. Winds WSW 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Snow accumulating 2 to 4 inches.

Tuesday, Snow showers in the morning. High 10F. Winds WNW 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 50%.

Wednesday, Few snow showers. High 9F. Winds ENE @ 6 mph.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge lunch special is Spicy chili and veggie chili served with a warm 7 grain roll. A whole host of paninis and sandwiches made with Stone House bread are also on today’s menu.
Cross country skiers stay warm even in the cooler temps!
