Cross Country Ski Report – Monday, January 20th, 2014

Even though there was some wind yesterday many skiers enjoyed the trails and even the fire outside on the sun deck. The Eskimos have over 200 words to describe different snow types. The  description of our current snow type on the trails is “perfect for X-C skiing”

Ginzu Dana will start grooming all the trails at dawn this morning.

All 8 trails are open for a total of 18 kilometers (11 miles) of classic and skate skiing. Depth of packed snow ranges from 7 to 17 inches (20 inches in the Blizzard X-C Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 12 to 20 inches. Conditions are excellent for classic and skate skiing

Today, Partly cloudy with light snow showers, High 9F. Winds N 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday, Occasional snow showers. High 6F. Winds N 5 to 10 mph. Snow accumulating 1 inch.

Wednesday, Snow showers. High 13F. Winds SSE @ 8 mph.

Today’s lunch special is a Turkey Pesto Panini: turkey, pesto, spinach, tomatoes and provolone served on Stone House 7 grain bread and grilled to perfection. Famous spicy chili and Veggie chili will also be served along with a variety of sandwiches and paninis.

Even though the temperature may be low, Cross Country Skiers stay warm on the trails and by the fireplace in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge!
