Cross Country Ski Report – Monday, March 3rd, 2014

The X-C skiing was fantastic yesterday with plenty of sunshine and nicely groomed trails. Thanks to The West Side Blues Band for some great music and to German Dave for cooking up some great ribs!

All 8 trails are open for a total of 18 kilometers (11 miles) of classic skiing and skate skiing. Depth of packed snow ranges from 15 to 25 inches (34 inches in the Blizzard X-C Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 18 to 38 inches. Conditions are very good to excellent for classic and skate skiing.

Ginzu Dana will start re-grooming all the trails early this morning. Snowcombing the skating lanes and resetting the tracks.

Today: Mostly sunny. High 10F. Light winds.

Tuesday: Light snow likely. High 19F. Light winds. Chance of snow 70%. Accumulation around 1 inch

Congratulations to the X-C Ski HQ Team for the great effort at yesterday’s Black Mountain Michigan Cup Freestyle Race. First Place overall women went to HQ team member Mariah Frye Colie and first place overall men’s went to HQ Team member Phil Tosteson. Many team members competed and all had a lot of fun! Way to go Team!

Today’s lunch special is the Turkey Pesto Panini: sliced oven roasted turkey, fresh tomatoes, spinach, basil pesto and provolone, on Stone House bread, grilled perfectly and served with pickle and chips. Of course Spicy Chili and a variety of paninis will also be on today’s menu.

A cool start to today’s skiing but the sunshine, light wind and great trail conditions will make it an enjoyable day!
