Early Season Skiing

Cross Country Ski Report – Monday, Nov 12th, 2019

We received roughly 4 inches of snow over the course of the weekend. What’s great is that temperatures are staying cool enough for the ground to freeze and the snow to stick, so it is looking quite wintery up here! Despite the ground still showing in many places along the trail, a couple of brave skiers put on their rock skis and made the most of the snow we’ve gotten. Here are the pictures from the trail:

Early Season Skiing
A little dirt didn’t stop Lynne from touring the trails this morning!

While it’s clear that some fun can be had in these conditions (on rock skis, of course), skiers must use caution due to the thin snow and ample debris (leaves, sticks etc) on the trail, as well as the deer hunters in the woods! Unless you’re absolutely dying to get out there, we recommend waiting until there is a bit more snow. The 10-day forecast predicts a bit more snow on the way, and only a couple days seeing temps above freezing. We are optimistic that ski season is right around the corner!
