Cross Country Ski Report – Saturday, February 15th, 2014

Great skiing yesterday, light snow showers, light wind and temperatures in the 20’s. The fresh snow is just what Groomer Henry needs to Ginzu groom with this morning. Henry will start grooming at dawn.

All 8 trails are open for a total of 18 kilometers (11 miles) of classic and skate skiing. Depth of packed snow ranges from 13 to 24 inches (30 inches in the Blizzard X-C Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 17 to 38 inches. Conditions are excellent for classic and skate skiing.

Today: Mostly sunny. High 16F. Winds NW 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Partly sunny with a few snow showers. High 19F. Winds NNE 5 to 10 mph.

Enjoy the live music of acoustic guitar player and singer Greg Merwin this afternoon in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge, and get the Jimmy Mac Panini special for lunch! Sliced grilled chicken breast, Canadian bacon, chopped spinach, sliced tomato, jalapenos, provolone cheese, pesto and a dash of ranch in a flatbread sandwich, grilled to perfection for a perfect lunch.

The Trapper’s cabin trail will be lit by torches from 6pm to 8pm tonight. At the cabin will be a bon fire and Trapper Mariah serving Hot Cocoa and telling sea stories!
