Cross Country Ski Report – Saturday, January 7th

The trails groomed up great yesterday again, with Ginzu snowcombed skating lanes that were ideal for good speed in these cooler conditions. Ginzu Dana had great success resetting tracks, and they are so firm that they will not need to be reset this morning. Groomer George will begin snow combing the skating lanes around 8:30am this morning, once it warms up a little. We have a 7 to 9 inch packed base and 12 to 15 inches in the woods. Conditions for skating and classic are excellent.

Today: Flurries and a few snow showers throughout the day. High 12F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 30%.

Tonight: Snow this evening will give way to lingering snow showers late. Low 6F. Winds WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 80%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Sunday: Cloudy. High 17F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Trappers Cabin
Trappers Cabin is a great place to sit by the bonfire and take a cocoa break!

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge lunch special today is Get your Fill at the Grill – Fire on the Mountain! This longtime favorite lunch special allows you to pick your choice of a fresh beef/pork patty, salmon burger, or delicious black bean veggie burger, and have it grilled to perfection on open flame by chef George! Add your choice of an abundance of toppings, plus Great Lakes Potato Chips and a pickle. If you dare, order your burger to be cooked “Fire on the Mountain” style, with jalepenos and our house made spicy buffalo bleu cheese sauce!

We have plenty of hand and toe warmers, face masks, and other warm clothing on hand until temps warm up. Now is the time demo some high end skate skis – try the Rossignol Xium S2 WCS Skate, now on clearance!  Ski instructor  Jim is available for lessons today. Call 800-832-2663 to schedule your skate or classic lesson.

Enjoy the snow!
