Cross Country Ski Report – Saturday, March 16th, 2013

Saturday March 16, 2013

As of 6:30AM we had received over 1 & 1/2 inches of snow and a moderate snow was falling. The forecast is for 1 to 2 additional inches. The temperature was 18 F.

Groomer Bob Ginzu groomed the Skating lanes yesterday on all trails except Tall Pines. The tracks were still in good shape.

The fresh snow and cooler temps are a perfect combination for great skiing today. Groomer young Bob will start Ginzu grooming all the trails (including Tall Pines) early this morning.

The Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, Rolling Hills, Trapper’s Cabin, Manitou, Adventure and Blizzard trails all have fresh groomed snow on a solid base. The tracks are good. The skating lanes are in very good condition.

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge special is freshly baked Flat Bread Pizza with many choices of sauces and topping, (very tasty). Spicy Chili and Veggie Chili will also be served with a warm sourdough roll.

Today would be a great day to try out any of our classic, skating or backcountry skis and boots. The “March Madness, aka Labor Day Sale” is in full swing.

This will be a great day to go X-C Skiing!
