Cross Country Ski Report – Saturday, March 9th, 2013

Snow pack continues to hold up very well. As of 7AM this morning the temperature was 21 F. Looks like a great day to X-C Ski!

Groomer Stu will start Ginzu Grooming all the trails very early this morning. By 10AM the tracks will start to soften up for great classical skiing.

The Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, Rolling Hills, Tall Pines, Trapper’s Cabin, Manitou, Adventure and Blizzard trails all have excellent spring conditions for classic and skate skiing.

Today: Overcast. High 42F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Showers this evening becoming a steady rain overnight. Low around 35F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

Sunday: Rain. High around 40F. S winds shifting to WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

Sunday night: Cloudy with rain and snow in the evening, becoming all snow late. Low 28F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precip 80%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

Monday: Snow likely. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the low 20s.

New Snow: 0 inches

Snow Depth in Woods: 12 to 15 inches

Packed Snow Depth on Trails: 6 – 12 inches

Ice, Glaze, Barespots: No Barespots, Fresh groomed snow with deep base. Some tracks are glazed till the temps warm a little.

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge special is BBQ Ribs. A variety of Panini sandwiches and Spicy Chili and Veggie Chili will also be on today’s lunch menu.
