Cross Country Ski Report – Thursday, January 16th, 2014

The fresh snow groomed up beautifully yesterday. We actually received more than first reported. All the trails have freshly set tracks and snowcombed skating lanes.

All 8 trails are open for a total of 18 kilometers (11 miles) of classic and skate skiing. Depth of packed snow ranges from 7 to 17 inches (20 inches in the Blizzard X-C Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 11 to 18 inches. Conditions are excellent for skate skiing and excellent for classic skiing on the fresh cut tracks.

Today, Cloudy with snow showers becoming a steady light snow later. High 29F. Winds S 10 to 15  mph. 1 to 2 inches of accumulation expected.

Tonight, Snow showers. Lows in the lower 20s. Snow accumulation around 1 inch.

Friday, Snow showers. High 25F. Winds W 10 to 15 mph. Accumulation up to 2 inches.

Saturday, Mostly cloudy with scattered snow showers. Highs in the lower 20s.

Tomorrow night is Full Moon Night Skiing following torches out to Trapper’s Cabin. At the Cabin, Trapper Stu will be telling tales by the bonfire. 6-8 PM. Skiers who need to rent skis must do so before 7PM.  Join us for an evening you’ll never forget

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge lunch special today is the: “The Turkey Pesto Panini”  served on 7 grain Stone House bread and grilled to perfection. Of course famous spicy chili and veggie chili will be served along with other delicious paninis and sandwiches.

Today’s X-C skiing conditions are is about as good as they get!
