Cross Country Ski Report – Thursday, January 31st, 2013

As of 9:30 AM we have received about 2 inches of snow and the temperature is 16F.

Even though it is well below freezing there is a lot of slush under some of the fresh snow so we will only be able to ski on the Blizzard trail today. We will have a fire in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge fireplace and we will be serving lunch.

We will start grooming all the trails at dawn tomorrow.

We are currently under a lake effect snow advisory with 2 to 8 inches of snow forecast through Friday morning.

New Snow: 2 inches

Snow Depth in Woods: 5 to 8 inches

Packed Snow Depth on Trails: 3 – 5 inches

Ice, Glaze, Barespots: All the trails except the Blizzard trail are closed today.

The Stone Turtle Day Lodge will have have a fine fire in the fireplace and the lunch specials include great panini sandwiches and Famous Chili.

We have a huge assortment of winter aerobic outerwear from North Face, Patagonia, Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, Salomon, Hot Chilly’s, Terramar, Sporthill and Smartwool! All part of the “Let it Snow Sale”! Great sale prices on ski packages too.

Winter is back!
