Cross Country Ski Report – Tuesday, December 24th, 2013

Merry Christmas Eve and Happy, Happy Birthday to Mariah!!! We will be open today from 10am to 3pm. Tomorrow, Christmas Day, we will be closed but the trails and parking lot will be open for everyone.

All the trails groomed up beautifully yesterday. The moisture content of the snow that came in Sunday is ideal for great glide.

We have 8 trails open for a total of 18 kilometers (11.2 miles)

Depth of packed snow ranges from 8 to 17 inches (17 inches in the Blizzard XC Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 10 to 18 inches

Today, Dec 24:  Partly cloudy. High around 14. Winds light and variable.

Wednesday, Dec 25: Snow in the morning will transition to snow showers in the afternoon. High 21F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. 70% chance of snow. Accumulating 1 to 3 inches.

Thursday, Dec 26: Partly cloudy. . High 15F.  Winds W @ 15 mph.

There is still space available for a few more kids in the XC Ski Kids Camp, on Thursday, December 26th! Instructor Jim Bradley will be leading the camp, which is aimed at teaching youngsters to XC ski.This camp is for kids ranging from age 7-12, and it will start at 10am and end at 1pm. The cost is $40 and includes equipment rental, ski lesson, guided ski tour, hot cocoa break, and pizza lunch! To register, please call 800-832-2663, or email info@crosscountryski.com, and be sure to include your kid’s height, weight, and shoe size.

The lunch special in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge today is a house favorite: the Turkey Pesto Panini on 7 grain Stone House bread grilled to perfection by chef Lexi. Of course spicy chili and spicy veggie chili with a 7 grain roll are also on the menu along with a whole host of other paninis and sandwiches.
