Cross Country Ski Report – Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

The skiing continues to be most enjoyable. Trails are in excellent condition and the weather is very comfortable.

The Mackinac Cut, Wild Turkey, Rolling Hills, Tall Pines, Trapper’s Cabin, Manitou, Adventure and Blizzard trails all have excellent conditions for skate and classic skiing.

Groomer Stu will start Ginzu snowcombing all the trails early this morning and resetting fresh tracks where needed.

Today: Clouds and some sun this morning with more clouds for this afternoon. High 38F. Winds ENE at 15 to 25 mph.

Tonight: Windy with periods of snow. Low 28F. Winds NE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow 80%. 1 to 2 inches of snow expected.

Wednesday: Windy. Snow during the morning will give way to snow showers during the afternoon. High 34F. Winds NE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 80%. Snow accumulating 1 to 2 inches.

Wednesday night: Occasional snow showers. Low 24F. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 50%. Snow accumulating 1 to 2 inches.

Thursday: Snow showers. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the mid teens

New Snow: 0 inches

Snow Depth in Woods: 11 to 15 inches

Packed Snow Depth on Trails: 6 – 11 inches

Ice, Glaze, Barespots: No Barespots, Fresh groomed snow with deep base

Today’s Stone Turtle day Lodge Special is a Turkey, Spinach and Tomato sandwich served on Stone House bread. Of course the Tuna and Veggie Panini sandwiches are also on the menu as is the Famous Spicy Chili and Veggie chili.

Today will be a great day to try out some new skis or boots at no charge. We are a Demo and Race Center for Fischer, Salomon and Atomic skis and boots. We are also a Rossignol and Alpina Demo/Touring center. We just received the new Fischer Speed Max Skate skis and you are most welcome to give them a try.
