Cross Country Ski Report – Tuesday, January 14th, 2014

Trails groomed up very well yesterday. Fresh tracks were set on all trails with great success. Looks like some good snow coming in today and tonight. Groomer Dana will start Ginzu grooming and snowcombing all the skating lanes this morning at dawn.

All 8 trails are open for a total of 18 kilometers (11 miles) of classic and skate skiing. Depth of packed snow ranges from 5 to 10 inches (17 inches in the Blizzard X-C Ski Park where we make snow). Depth of unpacked snow ranges from 7 to 14 inches. Conditions are very good to excellent for skate skiing and very good to excellent for classic skiing on the fresh cut tracks.

Today, Periods of snow, High 28F. Winds ESE 10 to 15 mph. 1 inch of snow expected. Chance of snow 90%

Tonight, Periods of snow, Low 17F. Winds NNE 10 to 20 mph. 2 to 4 inches of snow expected. Chance of snow 90%

Wednesday, Light snow during the morning. High 17F. Winds NNW 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%

Today’s Stone Turtle Day Lodge lunch special is “The HQ Veggie Panini” made with hummus, tomatoes, spinach, onions, fresh peppers, black olives, jalapenos and provolone served on 7 grain Stone House bread and grilled to perfection. Of course famous spicy chili and veggie chili will be served along with other delicious paninis and sandwiches.
