Cross Country Ski Report – Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Greetings from Higgins Lake!  The trails were absolutely great yesterday, with light snow fall throughout most of the day.  At 6:30am this morning it was -2F, and in the past 24 hours we have received over three inches of new snow.  Groomer Matt will snowcomb all the skate lanes and set new tracks.  We will have excellent classic and skating conditions on all trails with 10 to 18 inches of snow in the woods and 6 to 10 inches packed on the trails.

Today: A mix of clouds and sun.  High 13F.  Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Some clouds.  Low -9F.  Winds light and variable.

Thursday: Partly clouds skies in the morning will give way to cloudy skies during the afternoon.  High 11F.  Winds N at 5 to 10 mph

Thursday Night:  Partly cloudy skies.  Low -13F.  Winds light and variable.

Friday:  Partly cloudy.  Highs in the upper teens and lows -3 to 1F.

You better be planning to be at HQ this Sunday, March 1st, for our 40th Anniversary and Retro Costume party.  Wear your best retro ski garb and dust off your vintage ski equipment. Retro King & Queen will be crowned to those with the best retro outfits. And what would a party like this be without a famous pulled pork barbeque? There will also be a keg of Paddle Hard Brewing beer on tap!

Today’s lunch special is a Turkey Pesto Panini. Sliced, oven roasted turkey, spinach, fresh tomatoes, provolone and basil pesto served on Stone House bread.  We will also have have a fine selection of additional paninis and of course famous chili served with a warm 9 grain roll.

The “let it snow” sale continues with great deals on cold weather clothing, XC Ski packages, racing skis and boots! All sweaters from Dale of Norway, Smartwool, Woolrich, Patagonia are still at least 30% off.

Looks like a fine snowy day to XC ski!
