The arrival of the 2025/26 ski season is full of amazing new equipment from a variety of our most beloved brands. We got to test out a few things last winter and here is The List of the Best New Gear for 2025/26 Season!
We’ll start with the Salomon Outside 82 Back Country skis. We had a chance to demo these skis last winter and were blown away by their performance. At 82mm wide, they are by far the lightest BC skis we’ve ever seen at this width. Unbelievably light weight, they are incredibly easy to control and with a relatively shorter length, they are also highly maneuverable. With a full length steel edge, they have great control, and the Outside Rocker construction improves terrain adaptation, planning, floatability, and foot roll. We tested them after a 8” snowfall last winter on some BC trails, and were instantly smitten. Perfect for both seasoned BC skiers and those looking for their first pair, the Salmon Outside 82’s are changing the game of back country.
Fischer added many new offerings to their world cup level Speedmax Lineup. The Heliums (now Speedmax 100HE Skate) and the RCSs (now Speedmax 80 Skate) got graphics make-overs and they look as fast as they feel!
We’re very excited about the Twin Skin Speedmax 70’s as they are built with the 812 mold which features a lower camber profile for better grip while maintaining many of the World cup level features. It’s a race-level skin ski that will surely be a hit with skiers looking for ultimate skin ski performance without sacrificing grip!

Then, of course, there’s the new Speedmax 9 BOA race boots. These Olympic class boots offer a double BOA lacing system for the ultimate customized fit. Independent BOAs mean you can have the front section looser and the back tighter, or vice versa, meaning both more comfort and more stability, all enclosed in a high tech carbon loaded boot. The future is now. The Speedmax 7 boot is now replacing the beloved Carbonlites in both the skate and classic world.

Back this year is the incredibly user friendly Alpina Control 60! 60mm wide with plenty of stability for both in and out of tracks and an adjustable binding for fine tuning, this ski is the ski we use in our rental fleet because of how easy it is for beginners and people who haven’t skied in a while to use!
In the world of recreational classic skiing, there is a new ski from Fischer on the market called the Adventure 56. It features the ultra-reliable OffTrack Corwn grip pattern that has made the Spider 62’s so popular for so many years, but it also features a narrower 56mm side cut for greatly improved glide. This ski has the best of both worlds: Aggressive grip with a narrow, sporty sidecut. Wide enough to take off trail, but will fly in the groomed tracked as well!
Finally, we’re are excited to be carrying the Rossignol Xium SX skate ski. This is now considered THE universal ski in Rossignol’s Xium Premium lineup. Slightly lower camber profile than the comparable S2 means better acceleration and climbing, (especially in soft snow) while maintaining all the top speed characteristics. We all want to go faster when the snow is slow, and the SX is built with that in mind.
