Things cooled back down overnight and the soft spots yesterday are now mostly hardened back up. The grooming team is out freshening up the trails, and while the trail head is a little icy, once you get out into the network where the hardpack has been chewed up by the teeth of the groomer, the snow is pretty darn skiable! The temps are now above freezing, and snow is falling. The snow on the trails will continue to soften until things re-freeze tonight. The grooming turned out just beautifully yesterday. The grooming team set tracks and snow-combed all the trails yesterday after the fresh snowfall, and all trails were freshly snow-combed this morning. Conditions are very good for classic and skating. The Stone Turtle Cafe is open for lunch today, or bring your own picnic! The fires are going.
We received 3-4 inches of fresh snow last night, and the trails are open! Groomer Mike is out rolling and packing the trails, and Groomer Tony has the practice field looking fresh and gorgeous. After we roll the main network, we should be able to snowcomb early this afternoon. We will hold of on setting fresh tracks, but the skiing should be lovely nonetheless!
The main trail network will be closed today, as conditions are icy and unsafe. We did groom the practice field today, and will host the free lesson at 10:30. We are hopeful that we will get the 4″ of forecasted snow later today and tonight and will be able to open the trails again on Sunday.
After further inspection of the trails this afternoon, we are making the call to close the trails for tomorrow, Saturday. It is unfortunate, but there is just too much ice out there for conditions to be safe. We are still expecting snow tomorrow afternoon, but we will have to wait to ski on until it can bond with the hard surface underneath. We will

We received 4″ more inches of snow last night, and groomer Mike is out rolling and packing the trails presently. We plan to groom afterwards, providing the snow is not too sticky!
Trails are still in great shape, fresh snowcombing today with track reset where necessary. Take advantage of these excellent winter conditions!
Beautiful conditions continue today! Grooming Butch is out snowcombing all trails and conditions should be simply wonderful out there and will remain so through the weekend. Cabin Master Bob will be out at Trappers Cabin today from noon til 3 with a bonfire and hot dogs, so stop by and say hello!
