These weight ranges are approximate; we will hand-pick the best pair of skis according to your weight, ability, and height to ensure optimum performance. The very lightweight Salomon S/Max Carbon Skate ski is built for speed, and will not disappoint those who like accelerating down the trail with ease. Exceptionally fast, the S/Max Carbon combines key snow-specific benefits of Salomon S-Lab skis into one highly versatile workhorse that glides well in every snow condition. Technologies like Thin Ply Carbon frame construction was only found earlier on Salomon’s top-of-the-line S/Lab Carbon, but has trickled down to the much more affordable S/Max Carbon.  The Thin Ply construction provides amazing torsional rigidity which results in greater stability and feather-light feel.  Made with the skating space frame, skating race side cut, and forgiving D-Carbon core, these skis are an amazing value. Universal skating camber adjustment and low riding responsive camber construction ensures precise power transfer and responsive propulsion. Lightning fast World Cup G5 Universal Base with World Cup universal grind makes them shine in all snow conditions. The Salomon S/Max Carbon Skate is very close to a World Cup performance level skate ski, perfect for avid skiers and/or racers who like speedy, easy gliding skis. XC Ski HQ Demo Rating: 4¾ out of 5 stars.  List Price: $520

Quick pull lacing system makes them a breeze to put on, tighten and loosen, and central lace cover is ergonomically friendly. ProLink sole is compatible with all NNN-compatible bindings. It also features a lower boot-to-binding attachment, which improves ski feel and overall skating performance. Salomon’s Performance Energyzer ankle cuff provides lateral support, so the skier can get efficient kick and relax between strides. A great feature that sets this boot apart is the adjustable heel strap, which allows skiers to create a custom fit and eliminate heel slip. Salomon is famous for making incredibly comfortable boots, and this boot is no exception. The RS8 Vitane is built with a women’s specific last.  XC Ski HQ Demo Rating: 4¼ out of 5 stars.
